Soccer Recap: Herscher's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Herscher can now relate to. They fell just short of the Peotone Blue Devils by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Herscher were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than four goals in the five matches prior), but Peotone's defense proved too tough.

Herscher's goal came courtesy of Sophie Venckauskas, who's now up to 22 this season.

With the defeat, Herscher broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-4-2. As for Peotone, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

Herscher does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peotone, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Chicago University on the 27th.
