Volleyball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Coronado

There's no place like home for Coronado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Doherty Spartans on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in March.

One reason for the win was Coronado's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 25-15.

Sebastian Steger paced Coronado's offense, picking up 14 kills. Steger got some help from Paolo Piuma and his 39 assists. Wyatt Hudson controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Coronado's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. As for Doherty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
