Football Game Preview: Cooperstown Hawkeyes vs. Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights

Cooperstown is 0-3 against Frankfort-Schuyler since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Hawkeyes will challenge the Maroon Knights at 7:00 p.m.

Cooperstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Waterville, who was ranked fourth at the time (Cooperstown was ranked 15th). The Hawkeyes took a 26-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Friday. The matchup marked the Hawkeyes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frankfort-Schuyler). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat New York Mills 72-20. The result was nothing new for the Maroon Knights, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Frankfort-Schuyler's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Cooperstown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Cooperstown was taken down by Frankfort-Schuyler 74-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hawkeyes were down 60-7.
