Basketball Recap: Elsberry Takes a Loss

Elsberry lost against Monroe City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elsberry Indians fell 42-31 to the Monroe City Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Panthers are ranked 68th).

Elsberry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Monroe City, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elsberry will venture away from home to take on Louisiana at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Louisiana will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Elsberry surely won't give up without a fight. Monroe City has already played their next game (against Silex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
