Softball Recap: Salem Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Salem rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Clarksville Generals a 10-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Adison Feist made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lila Blevins was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Natalee Boutelle, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Salem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

Salem's record now sits at 11-9. As for Clarksville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Salem will take on Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
