Fairland is a perfect 10-0 against Chesapeake since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Fairland managed to slip by Portsmouth the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Dragons came up short against the Trojans on Monday, falling 10-0. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Chesapeake made sure to put some runs up on the board against Grace Christian on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Grace Christian. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kaden Perkins made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Chesapeake is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise. Perkins was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Muncy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Chesapeake's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Gage Blake also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Chesapeake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Fairland's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Chesapeake, their record now sits at 7-9.

Fairland beat Chesapeake 6-1 when the teams last played on April 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
