Baseball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Academy Eagles vs. Centennial Eagles

Calvary Christian Academy gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Boca Raton. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won six in a row.

Owen Martinez looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Diehl, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). On the hitting side, Centennial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Muscerella, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Yohalberth Romero also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-0-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvary Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts.
