Volleyball Recap: Andrean Comes Up Short

Andrean lost against Marian Catholic back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fighting 59ers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. Fighting 59ers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Spartans since Wednesday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Marian Catholic scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Andrean's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Marian Catholic, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andrean will square off against Hobart at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marian Catholic, they will take on Rich Township in a tournament on Friday.
