Baseball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

Union City was the 14-6 winner over Randolph Southern when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels on Wednesday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Huggins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Huggins has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played. Jayson Connor was another, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Randolph Southern, the win snapped their losing streak at 15 games and leaves them with a 2-15 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will take on Cambridge City Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Randolph Southern, they will challenge Union at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
