Basketball Recap: Marcellus Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Marcellus had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They managed a 63-59 victory over the Bishop Grimes Cobras. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Leading Marcellus to victory were Tucker Burnett and Dom Gosh-Sandy. Burnett dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Gosh-Sandy dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Gosh-Sandy has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mitch Donegan, who posted 11 points.

Marcellus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Marcellus' record now sits at 10-2. As for Bishop Grimes, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marcellus has already played their next match (against Westhill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bishop Grimes will look to defend their home court on Friday against Christian Brothers Academy at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Bishop Grimes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
