Soccer Recap: Spruce Creek Falls Short of Timber Creek in the Playoffs

Spruce Creek and Timber Creek squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Spruce Creek had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timber Creek Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Wolves are ranked 12th).

Spruce Creek's goal came courtesy of Tanner Mcclelland, who's now up to 13 this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Spruce Creek and nudges their season record down to 14-7-5. As for Timber Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season.

Spruce Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Timber Creek, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Ocoee at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ocoee comes in on three and Timber Creek on nine.
