Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Comes Up Short

If Palmer Trinity was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Mater Bay Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell 8-5 to the St. Brendan Sabres on Tuesday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Sabres recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kinsey Cerda made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Palmer Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for St. Brendan, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-9.

Palmer Trinity and St. Brendan should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 91st) will meet Braddock (ranked 257th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Brendan will square off against TERRA Environmental at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (111 vs. 287).
