Atlantic Coast suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Atlantic Coast Stingrays vs. Stanton Blue Devils

This season hasn't been kind to the Atlantic Coast Stingrays, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stanton on Friday. Atlantic Coast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Stanton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Atlantic Coast lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malik Aker. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. BJ Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

Stanton was led to victory by Surafel Cummings and Raza Cottey. Cummings scored 19 points along with 3 steals, while Cottey dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Cummings' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christian Ricks, who scored 6 points.

Atlantic Coast bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Stanton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic Coast is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Creekside at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. Creekside will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Stanton, they will head out on the road to face off against Menendez at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
