Soccer Recap: Carpinteria Find Success

Carpinteria hadn't done well against Hueneme recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Carpinteria Warriors won by a goal and slipped past the Hueneme Vikings 1-0. Logan Labistour had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Warriors.

Makenna Tobin, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Carpinteria squad sat out for Friday's match. With Tobin sitting this one out, Lacey Zimmerman got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 56.7).

Carpinteria is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3-2 record this season. As for Hueneme, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carpinteria will square off against Fillmore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fillmore will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Carpinteria surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hueneme, they will face off against Malibu at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
