The Lakeside Dragons will challenge the Cardinal Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cardinal took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakeside, who comes in off a win.
Lakeside is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Conneaut get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory last Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Anthony Wooten made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Lakeside: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Matt Wagner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Lakeside is 2-1 when Wagner posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Gage Tome was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conneaut only posted an OBP of .059.
Meanwhile, Cardinal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Berkshire, falling 11-1.
Cardinal saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Lakeside's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9. As for Cardinal, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Cardinal's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lakeside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Cardinal, though, as they've only averaged .290. Will they be able to contain Lakeside's hitters?
Lakeside couldn't quite get it done against Cardinal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
