Softball Recap: Mission Vista Comes Up Short

Mission Vista fell victim to Rancho Buena Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Rancho Buena Vista this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Rian Hickman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Mission Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Rancho Buena Vista, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-11 record.

Mission Vista will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Varsity Opponent on June 25. Rancho Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
