Basketball Recap: Knoxville Central's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Knoxville Central can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They skirted past the Jellico Blue Devils 62-60. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Bobcats were down 32-18 in the second quarter.

Despite the loss, Jellico saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendall Osborn went 9 for 14 on her way to 27 points and seven rebounds. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for Osborn. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Lay, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Knoxville Central's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Jellico, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Knoxville Central will square off against Carter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jellico, they will challenge Oakdale at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th.
