Volleyball Recap: Hancock County Takes a Loss

Hancock County was the 2-0 winner over Eagleton College & Career Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Royals 25-21 in the first set.

While Hancock County ultimately came up short, they really made Eagleton College & Career Academy work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 21-25, 31-29, 25-14, 21-25, 15-3.

Zoe Abbott was a one-woman wrecking crew For Eagleton College & Career Academy. as she had 18 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Abbott has posted over her last 13 contests.

Hancock County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Hancock County will host Claiborne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
