A well-balanced attack led Clover over Northwestern in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Clover Blue Eagles blew the Northwestern Trojans out of the water with a 57-25 final score. The Blue Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Clover was led to victory by Samara Lucas and Clara Powell. Lucas dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards, while Powell posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Lucas has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Akayla Richards, who earned four points and four steals.

Northwestern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Irie Morton, who put up five points. Camryn Bennett was another key player, putting up no points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

The win was the sixth in a row for Clover, bringing their record for this year to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points per game. As for Northwestern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Clover has already played their next game, a 64-38 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 9th. As for Northwestern, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-12 loss against Fort Mill on the 9th.
