Basketball Game Preview: Winfield Vikings vs. Circle Thunderbirds

Winfield is 1-9 against Circle since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Winfield Vikings will take on the Circle Thunderbirds in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m.

Winfield is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They received a blow as they fell 50-31 to Valley Center.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Circle). They blew past Parsons, posting a 54-23 win.

Winfield better keep an eye on Katelyn Vogts. She was instrumental in Circle's win, going 6 of 12 on her way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Vogts a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Johnson, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Circle, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Winfield came up short against Circle in their previous matchup back in February, falling 35-29. Can Winfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
