Baseball Recap: First Christian Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact First Christian can now relate to. They came up short against the Corinth Christian Academy Warriors on Saturday, falling 10-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mason Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Connor Fortson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

First Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Corinth Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Corinth Christian Academy beat First Christian by a score of 7-1 later that day.
