Soccer Game Preview: Brea Olinda vs. Villa Park

The Brea Olinda Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Villa Park Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Brea Olinda's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Villa Park heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Brea Olinda took over last week. Brea Olinda had just enough and edged Troy out 3-2 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by just one goal.

They hit Troy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Anthony Aguirre, Michael Ingallinera, and Max Velasquez.

Meanwhile, Villa Park kept a clean sheet against Troy on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Warriors 1-0. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Warriors are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brea Olinda's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Villa Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2-3.
