Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Diablo vs. Acalanes

Mt. Diablo is 1-8-1 against Acalanes since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Red Devils will square off against the Dons at 7:15 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Mt. Diablo and Clayton Valley Charter had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Red Devils fell 3-1 to the Ugly Eagles on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Mt. Diablo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Clayton Valley Charter are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Acalanes also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Northgate by a score of 3-1.

Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-6. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6-5.
