Basketball Game Preview: Lakeside Panthers vs. Hephzibah Rebels

The Lakeside Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Hephzibah Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lakeside is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Josey on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lakeside was outmatched by Josey and fell 67-27. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hephzibah). They secured a 58-54 W over West Laurens on Tuesday.

Lakeside has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Hephzibah, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.

Lakeside beat Hephzibah 43-32 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
