Volleyball Recap: West Covina Triumphs

West Covina proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Rio Hondo Prep Kares 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since September 6th.

West Covina took Rio Hondo Prep into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 25-20, 20-25, 17-15.

West Covina's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

West Covina will take on Rowland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westridge at 5:15 p.m. on October 13.
