Preview: Rising Sun Shiners vs. Trinity Lutheran Cougars
The Rising Sun Shiners and the Trinity Lutheran Cougars will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Rising Sun pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 81-55 walloping at the hands of Oldenburg Academy.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gavin Shorten, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brody Morris, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Trinity Lutheran, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-39 loss to Edinburgh on Saturday. Trinity Lutheran has not had much luck with Edinburgh recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Kowan Gross, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Pollert, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

It's a different story for Trinity Lutheran, though, as they've been averaging only 5.7 threes per game.
