Preview: Coal Ridge Titans vs. Rifle Bears
Coal Ridge is 9-1 against Rifle since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coal Ridge Titans will head out on the road to take on the Rifle Bears at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Coal Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Coal Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell to Grand Junction 46-41.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Logan Simpson, who scored 11 points. Lochlan Wade was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rifle's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 77-53 defeat at the hands of Basalt. Rifle has struggled against Basalt recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Coal Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Rifle, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16.
Everything came up roses for Coal Ridge against Rifle in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 64-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coal Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
