Softball Recap: De Leon Bearcats vs. Santo Wildcats
It was a proper cat-fight when De Leon faced off against Santo on Tuesday. The Bearcats fell 16-13 to the Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (12), the Bearcats still had to take the loss.
Payton Chupp led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Trinity Gonzales was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
De Leon's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Santo, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-9.
