Volleyball Recap: Cathedral Fighting Irish vs. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans

With a playoff game on the line, Cathedral rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans. The win was nothing new for the Fighting Irish as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

In the three sets Cathedral was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 19-25, 25-15.

Caroline Hanchar paced Cathedral's offense, picking up 18 kills. Hanchar got some help from Mia Stubbs and her 25 assists. Hayden Mandsager controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maeve Jordan had nine digs and 15 assists. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in the last five games she's played.

Cathedral has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a massive bump to their 22-10 record this season. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-11.

Cathedral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Tri-West Hendricks on the 26th. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
