Soccer Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Columbus was not quite El Campo's equal in the second half on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the El Campo Ricebirds. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ricebirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Columbus is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for El Campo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 loss against Bay City on the 3rd. As for El Campo, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Calhoun on the 4th.
