Manzano is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Albuquerque Academy just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Chargers on the road and fell 57-26. The match marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Aiden Erickson, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Valencia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 432 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Valencia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
