Softball Recap: Owosso Comes Up Short

Laingsburg hit Owosso with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 7-6. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolfpack earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Ady Freeman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Danica Dwyer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Owosso's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Laingsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owosso will challenge Goodrich at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Martians have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Laingsburg, they will face off against Pewamo-Westphalia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
