Basketball Recap: Dugway Takes a Loss

Dugway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 52-31 to the Rangely Panthers. The Mustangs lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-23 score last time.

Despite the loss, Dugway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gary Williams Jr posted 19 points. That was a full 61.3% of the Mustangs' points, marking the fourth time in a row Williams Jr has earned more than a third of the team's points. Quaid Elton was another key player, putting up six points.

Dugway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Dugway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-33 loss against Mount Vernon on the 5th. As for Rangely, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-41 defeat against Manila on the 5th.
