Baseball Game Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Colton Yellowjackets

The Eisenhower Eagles will challenge the Colton Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Colton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eisenhower, who comes in off a win.

Eisenhower took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Jurupa Hills 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Viggo Sahagun tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Derek Mendoza was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Alex Chocoza was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

San Gorgonio hit Colton with a five-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6.

Damian Sanchez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jesse Ruiz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Colton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Eisenhower, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
