Recap: Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves vs. Takini Skyhawks
The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed by Takini on the road to the tune of 81-36. Given Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Takini is ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Johnson, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Easton Lawrence, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Takini, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte and St. Francis Indian will face off at 8:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
