Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.53 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They lost 11-3 to the Central Hardin Bruins. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Independence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Maxon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Independence and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Central Hardin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Independence has already played their next matchup (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Central Hardin, they will host Eastern at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Central Hardin will need to watch out since Eastern has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
