Recap: American Christian School vs. Trinity Christian
On Monday, American Christian School faced Trinity Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. American Christian School really took it to Trinity Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-23 victory at home. That looming 66-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for American Christian School yet this season.
Caleb Ritchwood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Cilento, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Trinity Christian saw an underclassman step up: Ryan Khan scored ten points. Khan scored a full 43.5% of Trinity Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Trinity Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
American Christian School pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
American Christian School will head out on the road to face off against Dickinson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Veritas Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Veritas Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
