Basketball Game Preview: Nederland Panthers vs. Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans

The Nederland Panthers will square off against the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Nederland has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 9.

Nederland is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against STEM School Highlands Ranch on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Nederland came up short against STEM School Highlands Ranch, falling 50-25. The Panthers were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Nederland had strong showings from Cedar Shupe, who posted eight points and nine boards, and Mason Ivey, who scored 11 points. Those eight points gave Shupe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Indio Koonz, who had two points and eight rebounds.
