Basketball Recap: Desert Ridge Jaguars vs. Highland Hawks

Desert Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-36 loss at the hands of the Highland Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-54 back in January.

Highland found their leader in sophomore Bailey Williams, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points in addition to six boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Jacobsen, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points.

Desert Ridge's record is now 6-16. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Queen Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Highland, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Gilbert at 5:30 p.m. Gilbert will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Highland surely won't give up without a fight.
