Soccer Recap: Crockett Takes a Loss

Crockett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bastrop Bears. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 762nd, while the Bears are ranked 63rd).

Crockett's loss dropped their record down to 0-7-1. As for Bastrop, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-0-3 record this season.

Coming up, Crockett will challenge Navarro at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bastrop, they will take on Anderson at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bastrop is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.
