Baseball Recap: Chestnut Ridge Comes Up Short

Chestnut Ridge had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-6 to make it five. They fell just short of the Central Cambria Red Devils by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 10-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Chestnut Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kole Clark, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Clark's first of the season.

As for Central Cambria, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Chestnut Ridge since April 22, 2019.

On Central Cambria's side, JD Brouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chestnut Ridge will host Tyrone at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Cambria, they will be playing at home against Bellwood-Antis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
