Recap: Hemet Bulldogs vs. La Sierra Eagles
The Hemet Bulldogs came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 66-58 victory over La Sierra. Given Hemet's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while La Sierra is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hemet got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Torres out in front who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kee-esoul Pitchford, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Hemet's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for La Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hemet will take on Miller at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miller comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for La Sierra, they will be playing at home against Tahquitz at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
