Softball Game Preview: North Surry Greyhounds vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

The North Surry Greyhounds will venture away from home to square off against the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Surry's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so West Wilkes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, North Surry came up short against East Surry and fell 4-1. The Greyhounds have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Vikings as they made off with a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Blackhawks, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

West Wilkes' victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for North Surry, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

North Surry might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from West Wilkes when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can North Surry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
