Football Game Preview: Kellis Cougars vs. Canyon View Jaguars + Official Tickets

The Kellis Cougars will face off against the Canyon View Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Kellis ended up a good deal behind Tolleson and lost 21-7. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kellis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Robert Cordova, who rushed for 78 yards and one TD, and Hector Cisneros, who rushed for 47 yards.

Meanwhile, Canyon View entered their matchup against Desert Edge on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Jaguars fell 29-21 to the Scorpions.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Brady Scott and Blake Roskopf. Roskopf had a great game and threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, Scott did his best for the losing side, throwing for 126 yards and three TDs.

Canyon View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brady Grizzell. Another thorn in Desert Edge's side was Rece Landis, who made 18 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Kellis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Canyon View, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Kellis was dealt a bruising 56-21 defeat at the hands of Canyon View when the teams last played back in November of 2021. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 28-0.
