Baseball Recap: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Seven Rivers Christian Warriors
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Gulf ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
Jaidon Sopjack made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
