Softball Recap: Menchville Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Menchville's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bethel Bruins by a score of 6-2. The Monarchs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Taylor Twitchell (2027) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Kennedy Koskinas (2028) was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brielle Creque (2027), who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Menchville pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Bethel, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Menchville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bethel: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
