Softball Game Preview: Tremont Turks vs. Illini Bluffs Tigers

The Tremont Turks will square off against the Illini Bluffs Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Illini Bluffs took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Tremont, who comes in off a win.

Tremont is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Eureka on Monday as they made off with a 16-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Turks in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won seven in a row.

Tremont got a massive performance out of Audrey Parn, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Parn a new career-high. Ivy Stuber was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Tremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Illini Bluffs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Canton by a score of 8-7.

Illini Bluffs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Tremont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Tremont might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Illini Bluffs when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Turks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
