Basketball Recap: Isaiah Martinez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead San Pasqual Valley over Antelope

San Pasqual Valley was the 65-39 winner over Antelope when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The San Pasqual Valley Warriors fell 56-49 to the Antelope Rams on Monday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

San Pasqual Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Martinez has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 20 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Santiago Lopez, who posted 19 points.

Abraham Moreno continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Antelope, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moreno a new career-high in points. Chris Perez was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 boards and seven steals.

San Pasqual Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Antelope, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

San Pasqual Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-32 defeat against Salome on the 8th. As for Antelope, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-53 loss against Anthem Prep on the 9th.
