Baseball Game Preview: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. Spring Woods Tigers

The Galena Park Yellowjackets will take on the Spring Woods Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Galena Park's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Spring Woods has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Galena Park had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Spring Woods on Tuesday. Galena Park was the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Spring Woods. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Cesar Amador made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Hector Arrieta was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Spring Woods' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Galena Park, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
