Baseball Recap: Audubon Gets the Win

Audubon won against Paulsboro on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Green Wave came out on top against the West Deptford Eagles by a score of 10-6. The win continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Matthew Piechowski looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chase Bozarth, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Chester, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Audubon's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for West Deptford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Audubon will take on Woodstown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Deptford, they will square off against Cumberland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Colts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
